Student Visa Guide
Introduction
Students planning to pursue long-term study in Malaysia are required to first apply for a student visa.
Officially known as a STUDENT PASS in Malaysia, the visa usually has longer duration than a normal tourist visa and allows the holder to exit and re-enter the country multiple times during the period.
How to Apply
Prepare Required Documents & Complete Application Form
The first step in your visa application process is to prepare your documents. Please see HERE for the list of documents to be scanned.
Once your documents are ready, complete the Student Application Form available on this website.
Our staff will check your documents and forward your application to the Department of Immigration
A Visa Approval Letter (VAL) will be sent to you if your application is successful.
Obtain Single Entry Visa (SEV)
You will now need to travel to Malaysia for your medical examination and the endorsement of your student visa.
However, in order to make this journey, you will need to apply for for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) first.
It is important to understand that the SEV is not the same as your student visa. It merely permits you to enter the country for the purpose of completing your student visa application.
The SEV can be obtained online from the following website: https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp
Travel to Malaysia
It is now time to purchase your tickets and travel to Kuala Lumpur!
The Malaysian government requires that our staff meet you at the airport arrival hall and assist you in clearing immigration. You will not be allowed to exit the airport immigration area unless accompanied by the school’s representative.
Therefore, it is extremely important that you complete our AIRPORT PICKUP FORM no later than one week before your arrival.
If required, we can also arrange transportation that will take you from the airport to your accomodation.
Medical Examination
You are required to be examined by a government-approved doctor within seven days of your arrival into the country.
Details about this process will be given by our International Student Support officer on the day of your arrival.
Endorse Student Visa & Start Learning!
Once your medical report is ready, our International Student Support Officer shall submit it together with your passport to the Immigration Department for endorsement.
Once endorsed, your passport will then be returned to you.
Your student visa application process now is complete!
